In this article, we spoke with HERO’ZZ Inc. about the specific initiatives, results, and background behind their implementation and integration of “BOTCHAN EFO” and “BOTCHAN Engagement.”
When launching a new business, trade-offs in performance are likely to occur, and a strong sense of speed is essential. In this context, they chose “BOTCHAN,” and by integrating the products, they were able to reduce the cancellation rate for information sessions by approximately 25% and increase attendance rates by up to 63%.

To begin, could you please introduce your company’s business and yourselves?

HERO’ZZ Inc. Executive Officer & CFO, Kosei Tahara (hereafter, “Mr. Tahara”)
HERO’ZZ Inc. is an online social media university jointly founded by VAMBI, who achieved 10 million YouTube subscribers in the shortest time in Japan, and Yuuji Mizoguchi, COO of BreakingDown.
Based on “Buzz Studies,” VAMBI’s research on how to go viral, the school has assembled an instructor team with a combined following of over 60 million. Each student is assigned both a manager and an instructor, and together they work toward growing the student’s social media accounts. In addition, the company is driving the overall advancement of the industry by contributing to the future of Japan’s social media landscape and the development of influencers.

As an Executive Officer and CFO involved in management, I also serve as the head of marketing.

You oversee a wide range of areas, I see.
Please tell me about the challenges you faced before introducing BOTCHAN.

Mr. Tahara
When launching a new business, trade-offs in effectiveness tend to arise easily, so a strong sense of speed is essential.
I have launched a variety of businesses, not only online schools but also brick-and-mortar stores, D2C, and more. However, the optimal way to use LINE differs for each business domain, and it must be customized accordingly. While doing this, I was feeling my way forward, thinking, “There must be other people out there who have a cross-sectional understanding of various business domains and know this area in depth.”

Amid these circumstances, when we were corresponding with your company on behalf of a certain clinic, we found that not only were your response and development speeds very fast, but we also saw tangible results in terms of LPCVR and CVR from LINE. This led us to conclude that we could achieve maximum impact more quickly with you than by handling it in-house, and we therefore decided to entrust the work to your company.

I understand that you first learned about BOTCHAN through a presentation by our CEO, Isoyama.
Please tell us your impressions when you received the proposal.

Mr. Tahara
That’s right. The trigger was hearing a presentation at an event for business owners.
With other services, I often felt they were “too focused on sales,” but the way Mr. Isoyama spoke was entirely “CS-focused.”
His stance of “We will not continue unless it benefits our customers” came across very clearly, and I felt there was a high likelihood they would deliver results.


Another deciding factor was that your company already had proven success with other online schools. Even after we started using your service, the proposals were detailed and spot‑on, delivered with great speed, and you always responded personally. We sometimes push the limits with our requests, and the way you accommodate those demands really impresses us.

— Thank you very much. Were you specifically looking for something with a strong focus on customer success?

Mr. Tahara
That’s right.
In fact, we had implemented other services in the past, but they were often left unattended after implementation.
They were along the lines of “We’ll just teach you the method” or “We provide X hours of support per month,” and in the end, we saw no real results.
However, your company does not place limits on support and works together with us to achieve outcomes, which I consider to be a key strength.

— I see, that’s how it was.
How have the results been since you actually implemented BOTCHAN?

Mr. Tahara
We look at performance based on CPA (Cost Per Acquisition), and our CPA has been reduced by about 30%! We are extremely satisfied.

The quality of the creative work is also high, and I was particularly impressed by the planning capabilities.
Taking into account case studies from other companies, they propose the kind of plans we need at our current stage. The designs are, of course, beautiful, and it is extremely helpful that, even without detailed back-and-forth, they can deliver creatives that make you think, “People will definitely tap this,” after just one or two rounds of feedback.

In addition, I find the CS representatives in charge to be highly trustworthy.
In fact, I also have opportunities to conduct recruitment interviews myself, and many of your CS staff go beyond the standards I use there; they are genuinely committed to achieving results for their counterparts.

We have someone at the forefront whom I feel I can truly rely on, and who leads by example. On top of that, they generate a large number of ideas and proposals, and are especially more knowledgeable about LINE than I am. I have therefore concluded that better results will be achieved by entrusting this area to them, and have decided to do so.

You are currently using “BOTCHAN EFO” and “BOTCHAN Engagement” in an integrated manner. How effective has this integration been for you?

Mr. Tahara
Yes. For customers who come through LINE and use BOTCHAN EFO to book an information session, we link their data with BOTCHAN Engagement and run initiatives via LINE to send reminders of the reserved date and time, as well as to encourage them to reschedule the session if needed.

As a result of this initiative, the cancellation rate for information sessions improved by approximately 25%.

We’re also seeing positive results from the product integration, which is very encouraging.
What kind of presence or role does BOTCHAN have for your company?

Mr. Tahara
BOTCHAN has a very strong presence as a partner.
When the CS team says something, we can trust it and move forward with confidence, saying “Sounds good, let’s do it.” I’m impressed by the sheer volume of their actions, but it’s not just about doing a lot—they consistently bring us a wealth of well-targeted ideas.

They also come up with innovative proposals that make you think, “I hadn’t looked at it that way.” The ideas are of such a high quality that you can immediately decide, “Let’s do it,” which makes them an extremely reliable partner.

Please tell us what you expect from BOTCHAN going forward.

Mr. Tahara
Yes, that’s right.
I would appreciate it if you could provide more proposals from a macro perspective that looks across other companies’ cases and the industry as a whole.
Since there are fads and cycles with things like LPs, LINE initiatives, and diagnostic tools, it is difficult for us to keep up with trends in real time.
For example, it would be very helpful if you could share concrete information such as “This type of initiative is effective” or “This is what’s trending in LPO (landing page optimization).”

What we value about your company is that you work with us to pursue the numbers. For example, at the start of each regular meeting, you share concrete points such as, “To achieve this figure, this is the current issue,” which makes the direction for improvement clear and easy to understand.
Your logical thinking and persistence are extremely reliable for us!

— We would like to continue proposing initiatives based on data.
Please share a brief message for other companies that are facing similar challenges.

Mr. Tahara
Because you can work on this with a performance-based fee structure, I think it’s best to start with the mindset of “let’s try it first.” We have implemented it ourselves and are seeing results, but beyond that, we feel it is extremely valuable overall in terms of the knowledge gained across the industry, our own growth, and other comprehensive benefits.

In particular, we do not see your company as just a “tool provider,” but as a “partner who pursues results together with us.”
In the initial phase, when there are budget constraints and you must deliver results without being able to spend much, I believe there is no reason for anyone working on a new business not to make use of BOTCHAN.
I strongly recommend trying it as a partner that runs alongside you and reliably delivers results.
